Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-58. Fire tyske soldat i svensk tjeneste, Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen, Ib Abelsøn, Elsebeth Buchwald til Høfdingsgaard og Karen Kaas. Soldaterne har handlet om de ting, de vil røve fra Elsbeth Buchwald. Hendes datter beder så Svend Poulsen om at stoppe dem. Men da de ikke vil stoppe, angriber han og Ib Abelsøn dem. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during and after the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-58. Four German soldiers in the service of the Swedish army, Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, Ib Abelsøn, Elsebeth Buchwald of Høfdingsgaard and Karen Kaas. The soldiers has been trading about the stuff they wants to rob from Elsebeth Buchwald. Her daughter Elsbeth Kaas then convince Svend Poulsen to stop them. But they don't want to stop so he and Ib Abelsøn attacks them. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was real a person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him.
