Description
English: For the first time, in medieval period, Gjakova is mentioned as a village, a market place in 1485. In 1662 Gjakova is mentioned for the first time as a city from ottoman chronic writer ( guide ) Evlia Çelebi, which wrote: " Jakova has two thousand houses that are decorated and situated at a wide lead. Has a beutiful " Hamam " ( public bath ) that makes your hart joyful and about three hundred shops with one thousand skills. Since the climate is lovely, the inhabitants are beautiful and pleasant "
