DescriptionGla - Cyclopean Architecture.jpg |
English: Gla Cyclopean Architecture. In another country it might be called megalithic architecture. Gla is a bronze age settlement, a bit like Mycenae or Pylos, but not as famous. The architecture is described as Cyclopean because the stones used to build it ar so large the Greeks thought it must have taken a Cyclops to shift them.
Gla was an important fortified site of the Mycenaean civilization, located in Boeotia, mainland Greece. South gate of Gla. |
