Description
English: On June 23, 1900, Oliver Lippincott and Edward E. Russell drove a Locomobile into Yosemite Valley, marking the first motor vehicle entrance there. The journey was part of Lippincott's strategy to promote a photography venture and the Locomobile company. After a five-hour drive to Glacier Point, the vehicle was photographed on a rock 3,200 feet above the valley floor.
