English:

The Globe Block, seen here at the northeast corner of Madison Street and Post Street, was commissioned by Seattle Developer James W. Clise (1855-1939) in 1900-1901. The Alexis Hotel has occupied the Globe Building since 2003. This building and the two to the north are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as "Globe Building, Beebe Building and Hotel Cecil." The buildings are also part of a city landmark, the First Avenue Groups / Waterfront Center, 1001-1123 1st Ave., 94-96 Spring St., and 1006-1024 Western Ave.
