Description
  • English: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931), Two naked youths, one of them wearing a Northern-African hat, plus a third one wearing a pseudo-classical costume and a wig. Catalogue number: 0176 B. Cm 11,8x16,8. Formerly in Hans Schellenberger's collection. Since one model and the same setting appear in: Gleeson White, "On photographing the nude", The photogram, 1894, p. 85, this image can be dated before 1894. This is then one of the first experiments with the nude by Gloeden, either in Abruzzo or in Capri and Naples.
