Summary edit
DescriptionGold Revival Radio.jpg |
English: Solid Gold case Revival Radio showed at the 1961 Radio Show. This is British Roberts portable tube (well, valve) radio, of the R-series (R55, R66, RT1 etc. they're all similar), which was built since 1954 to around 1962. By 1961, tubes were almost gone, Roberts already started making transistor radios but kept end-of-the-line tube models in production. This probably explains the gawdy 'solid gold' gimmickry. |
