| Description |
Ouch! This lion capital has had all the roar smacked out of it. I included the photo in this set because it's possible to see that the lion's head is one of a pair connected by a horizontal element that would have rested atop a column when Persepolis was still intact. Another reason I included this photo is it shows the cover that has been built to protect the Apadana Staircase from the elements. |
