T. G.J. BEAUVAIS CATHEDRAL CH. VII) AMIENS AND BEAUVAIS 129 gives it its peculiar beauty. The same reason explains Beauvaisthe sexpartite vault, because the choir being over 50 feetwide from centre to centre of the columns and the lengthof the bay being now reduced to 14, a quadripartite vaultover such a long and narrow bay was hardly conceivable.
