Summary
editDescriptionGrand Union Canal - Tring Summit Cutting - geograph.org.uk - 1194730.jpg |
English: Grand Union Canal - Tring Summit Cutting View North West from Bridge 134 (Marshcroft Lane). The cutting is 1½ miles long and was dug at the end of the 18th century to a maximum depth of 30 feet. However the actual depth is greater because the excavated material was left in banks on either side.
Compare this picture with 1337849 to see the extent that the canal is hidden from view by the foliage in summer. |
