3239. Grave relief. Local, Macedonian marble. Found at Sandanski, formerly Agioi Anargyroi, in southern Bulgaria. Depiction of the busts of a family of four. The relief was discovered on a site on which a Christian church was built in the 19th century. The villagers interpreted the figures of the two children as Saints Kosmas and Damian, the Agioi Anargyroi, and inscised the inscriptions next to the two children. Between them is recorded the date of the foundation of the church of the Agioi Anargyroi (20 February 1861). The grave relief dates from the middle of the 3rd c. AD. National Archaeological Museum, Athens, Greece. --- 3239. Επιτύμβιο ανάγλυφο. Τοπικό, μακεδόνικο μάρμαρο. Βρέθηκε στο Sandanski, πρώην Άγιοι Ανάργυροι, της νότιας Βουλγαρίας. Απεικονίζονται οι προτομές τετραμελούς οικογένειας. Το ανάγλυφο βρέθηκε στο χώρο όπου θεμελιωνόταν χριστιανική εκκλησία το 19ο αιώνα και γι' αυτό οι δύο παιδικές μορφές ερμηνεύθηκαν από τους χωρικούς ως απεικόνιση των Αγίων Αναργύρων Κοσμά και Δαμιανού. Τότε χαράχθηκαν και οι επιγραφές που πλαισιώνουν τις δύο παιδικές μορφές. Μεταξύ των δύο παιδιών αναγράφεται η ημερομηνία θεμελίωσης της εκκλησίας των Αγίων Αναργύρων (20 Φεβρουαρίου 1861).
