English: Gravestone of Frances Skylling, St Sampson's Church, Cricklade The grave is usually hidden under a carpet in the Hungerford, or Lady, Chapel. The inscription reads:
'Here Lieth ye Body of Frances Skylling grand Daughter to Mr Phillip Jacobson by Frances his Wife. She Cherfully and willingly Left This World on july ye 8 day 1689 Aged years 22 and 9 months' Note the mediaeval symbol for death beneath the inscription. |
