DescriptionGreat Neck Car Incident (8937110120).jpg |
LIRR Port Washington Branch service was suspended east of Bayside for an hour and 20 minutes on Sunday, June 2, 2013, when a car was driven off of the Barstow Road overpass in Great Neck, coming to rest on an embankment, where it leaned precariously over the tracks. Fortunately, the driver of the car, a 2011 Toyota Prius, escaped with only minor injuries. The MTA thanks all the crew members who were able to hoist the car back to the street and restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Photo: MTA Long Island Rail Road / John Hauff |
