– Das Schulhaus mit seinem reetgedeckten Baukörper mit Krüppelwalmdach wurde 1826 im Stil der historischen Bauernhäuser in Groß Nordende errichtet. Es enthielt zwei Klassenräume und eine Lehrerwohnung. Große Fenster an der Längsseite des Baus sorgten für eine gute Belichtung der Klassenräume.

– Es handelt sich um das zeitlich zweite Schulhaus des Dorfs. Das erste Schulhaus von 1738 lag ein Stück weiter an der Dorfstraße 88. Es war zu klein geworden und wurde beim Bezug der neuen Schule verkauft. 1915/16 hatte auch das zweite Schulhaus ausgedient, der Schulbetrieb wurde in den neu errichteten großen Backsteinbau an der Dorfstraße 93 verlegt.

– Nach 1915 bezog der Tischlermeister Friedrich Meyer das Haus und richtete in den alten Klassenräumen eine Werkstatt ein. Nach dessen Tod übernahm Tischlermeister Klaus Quast die Werkstatt und modernisierte sie. Quast zog dann 1974 in eine neue moderne Werkstatt am Ortsausgang um.

Das ehemalige Schulhaus stand daraufhin einige Jahre leer. Anfang 2012 wurde es abgerissen, um einem Neubaugebiet Platz zu machen.
