DescriptionGroes Fawr gorge - geograph.org.uk - 519505.jpg |
English: Groes Fawr gorge The upper Groes Fawr valley is very steep sided and cut in by about 100m. This view from just above Craig yr Ochrau shows the sheer rock on Gopa Uchaf opposite. There are a few rock avalanche runs on it, too. Where the slope eases off, in the SE of the square, the south side of the valley is forested. The rest of the square is rough, largely dry, grassland. The Groes Fawr splits the square in two pretty much exactly along the central W-E axis. |
