English: Grouse butt, Crookstone Knoll. Surprisingly, given the date, there was no sign of any grouse-shooting going on on this part of Kinder. The grouse population seems to be at something of a low ebb: I saw only one bird on a 5-mile moorland walk (or perhaps they knew it was the "Glorious" Twelfth). |
