GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba – Army Veterinary Technician Sgt. Ardicio Galvao, attached to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, prepares a sedative drug with a syringe, while Army Veterinarian Capt. Miriam Lovell waits to provide assistance, at the Guantanamo Bay Veterinarian Treatment Facility, April 1. The facility provides treatment to pets of members stationed at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, as well as treatment to wildlife found on both the Naval Station and Joint Task Force sides of the base. JTF members, although not authorized to have pets while deployed to JTF, are able to bring in an injured animal in need of assistance.
