editDescriptionGunshot face.jpg |
English: Man who was shot in the face, a 50-year-old French victim of the siege of Alexandria in 1801. He was initially left for dead but the military doctor, Larrey, found he still had signs of life and he recovered. 3 months later he returned to France and had to wear a gilded silver mask over the massive wound and a way of wiping his face as he constantly salivated. |
