Notes Enligt brev: "Denna tavla beställdes av mig på uppdrag av min fader hos kungl. målaren Gustaf Rydberg hösten 1916 med följande ord; "skulle farbror Rydberg vilja måla en tavla till pappa?" Han svarade; "jag är så gammal nu, så ser jag dåligt och målar långsamt. Vad motiv skulle det vara?" "Det får farbror själv bestämma" blev mitt svar. Jag hade då några år å rad träffat Gustaf Rydberg i Falsterbo och Skanör, där han målade och bodde på Strandhotellet. Ett helt år därefter eller hösten 1917 ringde så Gustaf Rydberg upp mig pr. telefon och meddelade; "Är det Seth Axelson. Nu är tavlan färdig och du kan be din far komma upp och se på den". Dagen därpå infunno vi oss i Rydbergs våning på Regementsgatan och min fader köpte tavlan. Den fick dock ej genast medtagas, enär den var osignerad och hämtades först några dagar senare. Jag ärvde tavlan efter min faders död år 1926. Detta intygas på heder och samvete. Ystad den 28 juli 1945 undertecknat Seth Axelson".
