Svenska: Vilken badort kan ståta med titeln: Sveriges äldsta badort? Somliga håller på Strömstad och upptäckten av den sk.Lejonkällan. Den hade ett gott rykte redan 1782. Långt dessförinnan var den känd och utnyttjad. Andra gör gällande att källan på Baggetofta gård är äldst. Claes Krantz hör till dem som nämner Gustafsberg först. Embryot var källan på Baggetofta gård. Från källan utveklades Baggetofta till havsbadort. Sitt genombrott fick Baggetofta när kungen, Gustaf IV Adolf, lät sin medarbetare leta fram ett lämpligt badställe till sin sjuklige son. Fyra år gammal kom kronprinsen sommaren 1804 till Uddevalla, inkvarterad hos grosshandlaren Koch, vid torget i Uddevalla. Varje dag skjutsades gossen ut till Baggetofta.efter 1880, före 1930 |
