Description

Six 8th grade students from the Hawaii Baptist Academy visited Naval Facilities Engineering Command Hawaii’s engineers as part of their Science Class Career Day Apr. 30. The idea for the outing is to stimulate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum and build Hawaii's next generation of outstanding talent. The students spoke with an architect, civil, structural, mechanical electrical and construction engineers and ended their day with a construction site visit to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Pacific Regional Center facility on Ford Island which is nearly complete.
