Description

The 525-ton, 65-foot tall reactor vessel for the Boston Edison Company's Pilgrim Nuclear Station took a month-long, 3,587-mile voyage to go from the fabrication shops at Combustion Engineering on the Tennessee River to the plant site. Was nudged into a landing--about a mile south of where the Pilgrims had landed 350 years before. Circa 1971.
