Description
English: HMS Oak Torpedo boat destroyer. A starboard quarter view of the Acheron/I class destroyer HMS Oak (1912) at anchor in Scapa Flow. A 56ft steam pinnace is visible in the foreground, approaching to come alongside the destroyer. A number of ships are visible in the background to the left. The closest is a battleship of the King George V class, but aside from the fact that she is not HMS Centurion on account of the absence of searchlight funnels her exact identity cannot be determined. Two boats are visible near her stern. Beyond her is a store ship and barely visible beyond that vessel is an Orion class battleship. The remaining battleship to the left of the picture is a member of the Iron Duke class. The mast of another battleship can be seen just above the level of Oak's forecastle, while ahead of that ship in the far distance is a three-funneled light cruiser.
