DescriptionHaddlesey Weir, River Aire, Yorkshire - geograph.org.uk - 377362.jpg |
English: Haddlesey Weir, River Aire, Yorkshire, near Chapel Haddlesey, North Yorkshire, England. Chapel Haddlesey village is seen in the background. In the 1970s when this photograph was taken, Haddlesey Weir was notable for the large amount of detergent foam that would accumulate below it. The Lower Aire is not navigable now, but most of its extremely sinuous course can be enjoyed by walking along the Trans-Pennine Trail between East Haddlesey and Snaith. |
