| Description |
English: Hall interior, Christ Church, Oxford. The hall was built by Cardinal Wolsey and complete before his fall in 1529, when Henry VIII re-founded the college. Portraits of both of them are behind the high table, and there are many other notable portraits. Charles I used the Hall when he lived in the Deanery of Christ Church during the Civil War. More recently, the hall of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films is based on this hall - but a replica was built in a studio, with four rows of tables instead of three. |
