Description

Men loading plants at William Power & Sons, Waterford. The labels on the huge baskets all say "Hamburg. Urgent". Wondering what plants? Could it be those in the foreground that look like mini Christmas trees. But why would there be a trade in Irish Christmas Trees to Germany? Bit like coals to Newcastle...

Also wondering if the little girl is attached to the Power family. She's certainly not poor, given the fur collar and little leather gloves.

We originally had no date for this photo, but the tractor registration is YI 9417. YI means it was first registered in Dublin, and that number range went from YI 1 to YI 9999 (April 1921 to March 1927), so reckon that'd date this photo to after 1926. What do you think?
