This tunnel which was finished at the cost of 10 million marks under enormous difficulties is 450m long and ca. 20m in depth under sea level. Its diameter is ca.6m. The biggest ships pass above."
Deutsch: Postkarte, datiert 23.1.1917. Titel: "Cap Finistere über dem Elbtunnel" and "Elbtunnel Hamburg-Steinwärder. Dieser Tunnel, der über 10 Millionen Mark kostete und unter riesigen Schwierigkeiten fertiggestellt wurde, hat eine Länge von ca. 450m und eine Tiefe von ca. 20m unterm Wasserspiegel. Der Durchmesser beträgt ca.6m. Die größten Schiffe fahren darüber hin." This is a photograph of an architectural monument. It is on the list of cultural monuments of Hamburg, no. 13163. |
