| Description |
English: Harpham Church, Harpham, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Much remodelled Norman church dedicated to St. John of Beverley, born in Harpham in 640 A.D. On the Tuesday nearest to the 7th of May each year (St John of Beverley's day) there is a procession from the church to a decorated ancient well on Out Gates in the village. The well, which is also dedicated to St. John, is said to have properties including "the taming of animals and the calming and subduing of the fiercest of beasts". |
