This map image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Harvard University map (older, date unknown).svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

Summary edit

Description
English: Harvard University map, circa 1945, Cambridge, Massachusetts. This image is a cropped version from the Library of Congress online collection for the Harvard Loeb collection; see catalog information below. It is clearly outdated, as it does not reflect current plans - for example, the Boston Elevated Railway Yards have been a park for many years. Nonetheless this diagram shows the position of the older buildings at Harvard.

This image is believed to be in the public domain; see statement below.

The following statement is made by the Frances Loeb Library, Harvard Graduate School of Design, which is the source of this online collection and owner of the original materials reproduced here.

The Frances Loeb Library is unaware of any copyright in the images in this collection. We encourage use of these images under the fair use clause of the 1976 Copyright Act . All images in this collection may be used for educational and scholarly purposes, but we do ask that a credit line be included with each image used (see below). Whenever possible, the Frances Loeb Library has provided in the catalog records for these materials all known information regarding the photographer or other persons associated with the lantern slide. This information is provided as a service to aid patrons in determining the appropriate use of an item, but that determination ultimately rests with the patron.

For permission to copy or use materials for commercial uses, please contact the Visual Resources Librarian of the Francis Loeb Library for further information regarding the Loeb Library's reproduction policies. The nature of historical archival photograph and slide collections means that copyright or other information about restrictions may be difficult or even impossible to determine; the Harvard Graduate School of Design would like to hear from anyone who may have additional information regarding the images found in this collection.
