Description
English: Mid-19th century country house/estate; from May to June 1885 advertised as the property of the late William Middleton (died 21st December, 1884, his second wife Sarah dying on 3rd April 1885). Hawkhills Estate advertised as being for sale again in October 1887, shortly after the 16 July 1887 death of William Middleton's eldest son, John William Middleton, and advertised again in June 1907, shortly after the death on 8th January 1907 of Arthur Middleton, another of William's sons. By 1908, Hawkhills acquired by cricketer T.L. Taylor who remained at the house for many years:
