English: "Hohnbeer" symbol in Heide, Dithmarschen region. Hohnbeer is a traditional event in late winter/early spring where the three "Eggen" (neighbourhood)of the town of Heide - the northern Egge, the Easter Egge and the Souther Egge, celebrate neighbourhood and solidarity. It comes from a time when there was no administration of the town and common deeds had to be done. This is the symbol of one of the Eggen, in lower German it says "Dithmarschen honour - proud honour". |
