Summary edit

Description
English: Hell Furugård; God jul (Swedish text, English translation: 'Hill [Birger] Furugård; Merry Christmas')
  • Christmas card / nazi propaganda card from the nazi movement in Sweden in the 1930s. Line drawing by an amateur illustrator (artwork signed Thorlin -33) depicting a smiling man dressed in a nazi 'brownshirt' uniform holding a nazi swastika flag, standing in the snow in a winter countryside landscape.
  • Birger Furugård (1887 – 1961) was a Swedish politician and veterinarian. During the 1920s Furugård became inspired by the advance of Nazism in Germany. In 1924 Furugård, together with his two brothers Gunnar and Sigurd, founded the Swedish National Socialist Freedom League. The following year the group was converted into the Swedish National Socialist Peasants and Workers Party. In 1930 Furugård's party merged with the National Socialist People's Party of Sweden and formed the New Swedish National Socialist Party. Furugård became Riksledare (National Leader) of the party. Soon, the party changed its name to Swedish National Socialist Party (SNSP).
Svenska: Hell Furugård; God jul. Nazistiskt julkort, propagandakort 1933. Tecking av okänd illustratör ("Thorlin") 1933, föreställande man i snö med hakkorsfana och hälsningsfrasen "Hell Birger Furugård".
