Description
English: Entrance into the 100-meter long Kaivopuisto rail tunnel in Kaivopuisto, Helsinki. The tunnel, first built as 74 meters long in 1894, was extended to 100 meters in 1952. The route was used by freight trains on their to the South Harbour until this particular part of the railway was disestablished in 1980. The very last part of the whole railway, a shorter route between West Harbour and Kamppi, wasn't dismantled until 2009.
