English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
In 1924 the KLM made the first flight from the Netherlands to Batavia in the Dutch East Indies in a single-engined Fokker F-VII, the HNACC. From 1931 there was a weekly service to Jakarta and nowadays the KLM flies to Indonesia three times a week with a DC-8 and a DC-10. SHOTS: landing of supersonic airplanes, the Blackbird and the Concorde (black-and-white); DC-10 'Ludwig van Beethoven' at Schiphol Airport and during take off (colour). ARCHIVE FOOTAGE (black-and-white): HNACC during take off and in the air; tracking shot along the people waiting for the HNACC to arrive; crew members A.N.J. Van der Hoop, H. van Weerden Poelman and P. van den Broeke; airplane'Postduif' (Carrier Pigeon) with pilot Koppen; DC-8 and DC-10 in the air.
