Description

Kruis uit mijn verzameling. Eigen scan. Dit is volgens overlevering de decoratie die Jan Goeverneur heeft ontvangen.

Ingesteld bij Koninklijk besluit no. 70 van 12 september 1831 en uitgereikt aan allen, die aan de krijgsverrichtingen in de jaren 1830 en 1831 hebben deelgenomen. Het brons waaruit het kruis werd vervaardigd werd gehaald uit een tweetal bij de door Nederland gewonnen Slag om Hasselt ( op 8 augustus 1831) veroverde kanonnen. Het ( hier missende) lint is verdeeld in zes gelijke banen blauw en oranje, beginend aan de linkerzijde met een blauwe baan.

Zij, die, zonder dienstplichtig te zijn en die zich zonder handgeld in dienst hebben begeven, kregen het nl:Metalen Kruis Vrijwilligers 1830-1831.

Deze onderscheiding was gelijk aan bovenstaande, zij het dat op de bovenste arm het woord "VRIJWILLIG" en reliëf stond.Het lint is verdeeld in zes gelijke banen groen en oranje, beginend aan de linkerzijde met een groene baan.
