Hexagonite rock from the Precambrian of New York State, USA. (5.5 cm across along the base) This attractive rock is from a talc mine in New York. Hexagonite is a manganoan tremolite amphibole. Ordinary tremolite is white, but Mn-rich tremolite has a pleasant lavender color.
