DescriptionHigh Speed Vessel (HSV 2) Swift-Southern Partnership Station 2012 (HSV-SPS 12) 120124-A-TF780-094.jpg |
English: U.S. Navy Seabees, assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 23, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel (HSV 2) Swift, and engineers from the Peruvian navy share a light moment during a lunch break at Escuela Pronoie Nuevo Despertar Mis Puimeros Pasitos in Zona De Acapulco. The two Navies are working together as part of Southern Partnership Station (SPS 12) 2012. The Seabees and engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing schools in the area. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region. It also reiterates the countries partnership and commitment to regional cooperation throughout Latin America. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Alan B.
