Description
English: High Street - Burton-on-Trent, near to Stapenhill, Staffordshire, Great Britain.

Looking west.

As in many towns, the profile of the High Street has changed considerably in the last twenty-five years. However, 'Birds the Confectioners' is, or certainly was, a household name in Burton.

During the Second World War and in the late 40's , people formed long queues to buy cakes and bread while the stock lasted!
