Summary edit

Description
English: Higher Combe The building was formerly a woollen mill, and is now sub-divided. https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1168490 has the architectural details. The River Mardle runs immediately alongside the left (north-west) wing. A delightful circular area just east of the mill is perhaps where moorland sheep were congregated for shearing. The trees on the far slope, which are in SX7068, conceal the site of Combe Copper Mine. This deposit is of sufficient importance to appear on a national map at http://www.bgs.ac.uk/mineralsuk/downloads/mins_in_britain_copper.pdf .
