English: Highmoor Pits. Having made the arduous slog up the track from Moorfield, past Wood's Cabin, one reaches the plateau at the 450m contour where the track ends at the boundary of the Bostock Plantation,enclosed by the wire fence seen here.
In the foreground is the first of a line of grouse butts. The grouse season ended two days ago, so there was no risk of my tail feathers being shot off. |
