English: Calanda as seen from the southwest: the exceptional prominence of the mountain is an effect of the Kunkelspass to its left, with the following Tamina valley leading to the very same Rhine valley in the far background as passes in the foreground. Therefore it is possible to hike around the whole massive far longer without snow than other mountains of its height.
Deutsch: Calanda aus Südwesten gesehen. Der niedrige Kunkelspass mit dem nachfolgenden Taminatal separiert den Berg markant, sodass er eine bedeutende Schartenhöhe erreicht und sehr tief umwandert werden kann. |
