Description
English: Created with total precipitable water data from the NOAA Global Forecast System weather model, this animation from NOAA View shows the dissipation of Tropical Storm Greg and the merging of Hurricanes Hilary and Irwin over the next week or so. (The animation runs from today, July 25, 2017, to August 1.) Watch as the hurricane on the far right (Hilary) moves up and around the central storm (Irwin), seemingly consuming it. This phenomenon is called a Fujiwhara effect.
