In the 1930s Hilston Park was the residence of Edmund Henry Bevan, heir to a fortune made by manufacturing Portland cement at Bevan Works Northfleet, Kent. He married the Hon. Joan Mary Conyers Norton, eldest daughter of the 5th Baron Grantley, in 1903. |
