Summary edit
DescriptionHindu Godess in Artistic Tribal Form.jpg |
English: Durga is a major Hindu goddess, worshipped as a principal aspect of the mother goddess Mahadevi. She is associated with protection, strength, motherhood, destruction, and wars. Durga Puja is an annual festival celebrated magnificently and the biggest festival in Kolkata. What is very different is the making of the Durga and other idols – the centrepiece of the religious celebrations. Each idol can be unique in its design and creativity and this one is inspired by the tribal art and culture of West Bengal.
