Summary edit

Description No, this photograph does not lack purpose, nor have I fogotten my photography principles. No, this is a far view of the hippo enclosure in the Al Ain zoo. To the left is the covered pool in which we saw the animals in the previous photograph. To the right is the fenced off yard where we subsequently spotted two hippos grazing. They were a bit far off, plus the 'railing' was nearly 6" thick and kept coming in at eye level or camera lens level, and lowering the camera meant hitting another obstruction. There were too much enclosure-side furniture anyway. We gave up eventually. For photos of hippos in the wild, see my Kenya Animals set. (Al Ain, UAE, Dec. 2012)
