Graves was nominated for theoffice of attorney-general by the Democraticparty but went down in the general cataclysmthat overtook his party in that year. Since leaving the district attorneys c-fficeMr. Graves has confined himself almost en-tirely to civil cases. He has been conneitedwith some of the most important land andwater suits in the State. He is past worshipful master of PacificLodge, No. 136, of Free and Accepted Ma-sons, and is past grand chancellor of the orderof Knights of Pythias.
