English: Holden-modified WW II jeep field-ambulance for USMC in the Pacific Theater – right side. In addition to the windshield, vertical uprights stayed fixed in place, to hold the upper stretcher racks and the taller soft-top up. The windscreen and glazing proper could still swing forward and down in the conventional way, or upwards to close, as it did on standard Jeeps. But on the Holden jeep the spare tire limited its range of down travel, and when raised, there was no room for any rearward rake. |
