English: Hollingbourne Station in 1969 Taken from the footbridge over the tracks looking in the Ashford direction. I used to catch a train from this station to Ashford either on a Friday or a Sunday. In my diary on 30 March 1969, I wrote that a single ticket from Hollingbourne to Ashford cost 4/6 (23 p) and that a cheap day return was 5/6 (28 p). Semaphore signalling was still being used at this station and it was manned. |
