Eine Besonderheit des Homburger Kallmuth sind die Gamander-Blaugrashalden, die den lockeren Kalkschotter des Steilhangs befestigen und sonst nur in alpinen Gebieten vorkommen. Im oberen Teil findet man dann Büsche und Sträucher wie Wacholder und kleinwüchsige Kiefern. In den offener liegenden Hängen brütet zudem die auf der roten Liste stehende Zippammer. Das Bild ist auf der gegenüberliegende Seite des Mains von der Fischerhütte am Klostersee im Ort Trennfeld-Bahnhof im Markt Triefenstein aus gemacht.
