Photograph of a Hopi Indian woman and her daughter in the village of Oraibi, ca.1901. The daughter (on the left) is wearing her hair up in two rolls on each side of her head. She has a polka dot scarf about her shoulders which she is holding the corners of in front of her in her hands. Her mother (on the right) is wearing her hair down in two rolls. She has a shawl draped about her left shoulder. Both are barefoot. Behind them is the stony wall of an adobe dwelling.
